Included within that change was the recognition that following an audit by the British Safety Council, there was room for improvement. For that to happen, they needed a safety expert who bought leadership and safety expertise to review and establish an appropriate and value for money health and safety and facilities offer to the business. They chose Caldiston to provide that support.
Lisa McCaulder worked with the business as Interim Head of Business Services to review safety and implement a structured improvement plan that centred on embedding health and safety fully in the line management chain. The approach met with great success and a second audit in 2016 recognised the improvement made.
Lisa has continued to support Aspire who were recently asked to attend a British Safety Council conference and talk about how they had achieved the high standard of performance for which they are now recognised.
“Taking the decision to move away from the traditional model of an in-house safety team was a little scary but I am delighted to say that it has been very successful for us. Lisa McCaulder led the transformation and now everyone takes responsibility for health and safety in the business.”Tracey JohnsonExecutive Director Customer Excellence
